Comparison of different validation methods for single-step genomic evaluations based on a simulated cattle population

The validation of estimated breeding values from single-step genomic BLUP (ssGBLUP) is an important topic, as more and countries animal populations are currently changing their prediction to single-step. objective this work was compare different methods validate (GEBV). investigations were carried out using a simulation study based on the German-Austrian-Czech Fleckvieh population. To test under conditions, several biased unbiased scenarios simulated. application widely used Interbull GEBV method only possible limited extent, partly because preselection, which biases conventional values. Alternative considered in Linear Regression proposed by Legarra Reverter, improved including extra regressions suggested VanRaden adaption (daughter) yield deviations ((D)YD) ssGBLUP instead pedigree BLUP. comparison for showed that males estimate dispersion accurate less compared with DYD ssGBLUP, whereas standard highly affected preselection males. For females, results better estimations true dispersion.
